Miss Grand Ang Thong (Thai: มิสแกรนด์อ่างทอง) is a Thai provincial beauty pageant which selects a representative from Ang Thong province to the Miss Grand Thailand national competition.[1][2][3][4] It was founded in 2016 by an event organizer Thuanthong Nokchan (ทวนทอง นกจั่น).[5]

Ang Thong representatives have yet to win the Miss Grand Thailand title. The highest placement and only spot they obtained was the third runner-up, won in 2022 by Ornpreeya Nesa Mahmoodi.[6]

History

In 2016, after Miss Grand Thailand began franchising the provincial competitions to individual organizers, who would name seventy-seven provincial titleholders to compete in the national pageant, the license for Ang Thong province was granted to a local organizer Thuanthong Nokchan, who was also the licensee for that year's Miss Grand Lopburi. Nokchan organized the first Miss Grand Ang Thong in parallel with the Miss Grand Lopburi contest on April 29, 2016, in Sing Buri province,[5] and named Patcharamai Boonlertkul the first Miss Grand Ang Thong.[7]

The contest was usually co-organized with other provincial pageants, such as Miss Grand Lopburi (2016, 2018–2020),[5][8][9][10] Miss Grand Sing Buri – Chai Nat (2017),[1] and Miss Grand Rayong (2022–2023).[11][12] It was a stand-alone pageant only once in 2024.[13]

The pageant was skipped once; in 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand, the national organizer was unable to organize the national event, and the country representative for the international tournament was appointed instead.[14]
