Siti Mastura Muhammad
Siti Mastura binti Muhammad (born 27 August 1989) is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kepala Batas since November 2022. At the grassroots level, she is the deputy head of the Penang State PAS Muslim Council.[1] Controversies and issuesDuring her tenure as MP for Kepala Batas, she made allegations against Lim Guan Eng on his family ties with the first Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew and Malayan Communist Party leader Chin Peng.[2] In November 2023, Siti Mastura made the claim in her 46-minute speech to PAS’ Muslimat and young women wing members from Kemaman PAS, ahead of the upcoming election in Kemaman. Aside from alleged family relations with Ong and Lee, Siti Mastura also claimed that Lim is related to other DAP leaders such as secretary-general Anthony Loke, Nga Kor Ming, Ngeh Koo Ham, and Teresa Kok. Lim Guan Eng who is also DAP MP for Bagan criticised Siti Mastura's claim by added that: "This is not just a personal attack but has racial undertones as well. It is a spiteful allegation against my father (DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang) and me”. [3][4] After both parties failed to reach an agreement at a court-ordered mediation, the case is set for trial in September 2024. Mastura has maintained that her allegations are true, based on statements contained in a Barisan Nasional election pamphlet. She offered no comment on her widely-mocked distortion of Lee Kuan Yew's surname, mispronouncing it "Lim" instead of "Lee" in an attempt to associate the late Singaporean prime minister with the unrelated Lim political family.[5] Election results
