@TommyBoy I trust myself with category conventions after creating lots of categories etc. without protests or hassle, so that does not need to be a problem. To other users it will be clear what we are doing and why. Good day, Hansmuller (talk) 10:02, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
ArbCom 2019 election voter messageLaminar flow in the Victoria FallsThanks for clarifying! I was playing it safe because the article said nothing about waterfalls, barely even suggesting that laminar flow could occur in nature, it's all plates and pipes and aircraft wings. If waterfalls are a schoolbook case of laminar flow, the article should definitely give that some text and sources. I had a brief look for sources to write something up myself, but was only finding artificial indoor waterfalls which are designed to produce a curved sheet of water. --Lord Belbury (talk) 17:54, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
Not sure I see the need for a date on the photo. It'd be vital in an article that was specifically about the waterfall, but for an illustration of laminar flow the reader doesn't need to know how recent a waterfall photo is. For the opening image that shows a close-up of a waterfall edge I wouldn't even think it was necessary to name the waterfall! --Lord Belbury (talk) 11:27, 17 December 2019 (UTC)
Help with some Dutch translation(Translation)Dear Hansmuller, I've got a two page document in Dutch with the following bibliographic information: Title: Nieuw Nederlandsch biografisch woordenboek, Leiden, A. W. Sijthoff's uitgevers-maatschappij, 1911-37. Article Title: The entry on "Petrus [or Peter] Serrarius" Volume: 10, Pages: 911-913. I was wondering if you could help me translate it into English? If you can, I can send you the PDF document I've got through my Inter Library Loan via email. I'd really appreciate your help with this, since I've read it over 10 times already, but most of it I simply don't get. I haven't gotten some Dutch-English electronic dictionary setup on my computer yet, but before I do that, I thought I'd ask you for some advice, or if possible, for some help too. Thanks a lot. Regards, warshy (¥¥) 20:42, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
(Book on Serrarius)Dear Hansmuller, I had requested the following item through interlibrary loan here in the US:
Searching on WorldCat and on Google books I was able to determine that the ISBN for this dissertation/publication is 9789090015569 and the OCLC number is 46001165. Intelibrary loan here is telling me that no Library in the US or Canada is willing to lend this item through interlibrary loan. Would you have access to it, to have a first look at it, to see what the table of contents is, how many pages total, how many chapters it has and what these chapters are? It would certainly have a bibliography section (how many pages?), but I am not sure it would have an index also, probably not. I would really appreciate it if you could may be take a first look at this book or Ph. D. dissertation and could maybe answer some of these initial questions about it. Thanks a lot again for all your help with my research so far. Hope everything is well with you over there in Utrecht. Warm regards, warshy (¥¥) 16:46, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
Dear Hansmuller, Thanks a lot for your thorough research on my inquiry, just from one day to the next! I have read the French review of the book and it helps a great deal also! I have looked at her page which you found and sent. I did not know if she was still alive and active, but it definitely looks like she is. This is great news, and I will try to contact her still today. I am sure that through her I should be able to get a copy of the main parts of her dissertation some time soon. Nice picture of her, and nice picture of the "Huys te Warmond". It looks like this is the place/building where her office is located at Leiden University. I have a pretty large collection of her articles already, but for my research I also need to be sure I reviewed her initial Ph.D. thesis very thoroughly. The interlibrary loan people are saying they could request photocopies of chapters or pages of the book, so having a table of contents and the index would be very helpful to begin with. I will let you know as soon as I make more progress, and if I get a reply directly from her too. You have helped me a great deal again, and I am very grateful for all your help. I hope your own work on the Ethica's logic is also progressing nicely. warshy (¥¥) 17:12, 9 January 2020 (UTC) On Spinoza and SerrariusHello Hansmuller, Hello, Hansmuller. I am very sorry for the mess with all the notification messages, must have been pretty confusing at first. I tried to fix it dozens of times, and I can't believe I never came up with the right combination. Just look at the history of all my attempts at trying to fix the mess! I came pretty close, but apparently did never get myself to the winning combination - "|}" - in a new, separate line. What a mess, and I can't believe that with all the tries I just never got it it myself... It is frustrating to me, but sorry for the mess again! Thanks to the tips on how to proceed with the creation of the new page and the translation process. I thought there was a wiki template that could help in the process, but I understand from you that I just have to translate it myself using Google translate, not a wiki template. OK. With some time in the near future I will try/do it. Thanks again! Ave et vale, warshy (¥¥) 16:44, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
ArbCom 2020 Elections voter messageNavigationHallo, Thank you for creating Tireli, Mali . When you create an article like this with a "disambiguated" title, please make sure that the reader can find it from the basic name (ie Tireli), by adding or expanding a hatnote, or adding the article to a disambiguation page - or, in this case, by creating a disambiguation page as there was a person with the surname. This helps the reader to find your article, and also reduces the chance of a future careless editor creating a duplicate article with a slightly different disambiguator. I've fixed this one. Please also note that {{stub}} goes at the end, not the top - see WP:ORDER. It makes life easier for editors sorting stubs if (a) they know where to find the stub tag, and (b) it doesn't have to be moved. Thanks, and Happy Editing. PamD 18:20, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Fermi.jpgThank you for uploading File:My Observations During the Explosion at Trinity on July 16, 1945 - E. Fermi.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale. If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Automobile edficiencyPlease look at the various articles in https://www.google.com/search?q=automobike+engine+efficiency+versus+speed . When everything is included the typical number for the most efficient speed is ~ 55 mph, which is why that was at one time the speed limit. Most consumer cars are designed to be optimum for this speed, within constraints of what they think buyers will spend etc. Ldm1954 (talk) 15:09, 19 November 2023 (UTC) ArbCom 2023 Elections voter messageHello! The ISSN 0001-9720 is listed with the dab on top of the Africa (Rome) article as belonging, to the CUP journal Africa (journal), but on MIAR it leads to Africa (Rome) and is cited as such in the reference to MIAR, but not in the infobox.
