I saw Cite4Wiki mentioned on foundation-l and, on downloading it, noticed that it wanted me to restart and hadn't been updated to the latest Firefox. I'm going to go look at your code, but I thought you might be interested in Jetpack to help you with maintaining the extension since it would mean you wouldn't have to worry about Firefox versions or force people to restart Firefox to get it to run. Sounds good! It needs work. For one thing, it needs a proper settings window that allows you to set options like whether to use vertical or horizontal formatting. Not yet, but good idea. I still have a SourceForge account, so I guess I can use that. Is everyone using Git these days? They offer Git, SVN and Mercurial but not CVS any longer. Looks like I need new version control software... If you don't have a preference and don't currently use a VCS, then I'm going to say git. Not that it is easy (Torvalds isn't know for creating easy-to-use software), but it is pretty good. And we can pull from each other. I think I can get a repository set up in git hosted by the WMF. Sure. I honestly don't even use SVN yet; I've been using CVS since the dawn of time. Which of the post-CVS alternatives to use isn't something I have a set mind about. :-) IIRC, the version that's publicly available is stable but missing some stuff I've added to it. I guess I can commit that stuff later as a beta. Hi there! I was just wondering if a Chrome port of Cite4Wiki was on the cards at all? I noticed that you have tried to exempt Valley National 8-Ball League Association from the guideline on hyphens. However, it appears that the hyphen in "wholly-owned" is far from universal in legal circles:

Besides, in the WP article, the phrase is not within a quotation, so it seems proper to use the typography that WP recommends. The guideline is very clear and quite specific. Don't be melodramatic. I did no such thing, and it has nothing to do with any particular article. I exempted -ly constructions when they are terms of art, i.e. words and phrases with definitions much more specific and limited than the possible range of interpretations suggested by the incidental modification of one word by another. When used as a ding an sich instead of as a simple phrase, there's less room for ambiguity than there is if "owned" is simply modified by an adverb indicating wholeness or completion, with no hyphenation (e.g. it could be interpreted as "not subject to a lien or garnishment", when the intended meaning is "owned with no co-owners, not shared"). I never said it was always hyphenated in legal writing, only when used a particular way; for the same reason as in the article, "wholly-owned subsidiary" is in fact frequently hyphenated as a term of art in legal and financial writing (see examples below), despite WP's own use of it unhyphenated at Hyphen. It has nothing to do with quotations, either, and I never made any claim about quotations. If your position has to rely on three blatant straw men like that, that's a strong sign that it has problems. Also, finding a counterexample or two never disproves a general rule; name any rule in English grammar, in any field, and you can trivially find it broken, via Google, in seconds. I really don't care. If you Google "wholly-owned" you'll find multiple recommendations of hyphenation^{[1] [2] [3]} and multiple recommendation of non-hyphenation.^{[4] [5] [6]} Clearly there's no "real-world consensus" on the issue, so it's pointless to argue about.
