Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 22nd Illinois Infantry Regiment, a link pointing to the disambiguation page Battle of Farmington was added. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Tenna overworld idle.png

A tag has been placed on File:Tenna overworld idle.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a copyright violation and has no credible claim of non-free use or permission. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. thejiujiangdragon T/C 00:14, 2 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

5th Enrolled Missouri Militia moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to 5th Enrolled Missouri Militia. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and the current singular reference does not demonstrate WP:SIGCOV, therefore cannot count towards notability/WP:GNG. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. MolecularPilot Talk 13:07, 12 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve 62nd Enrolled Missouri Militia

Hello, SomeRandomGuy3523,

Thank you for creating 62nd Enrolled Missouri Militia.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

References 2 and 3 appear to be unreliable because they are user-generated, anyone can change or add information. Could you find alternative sources to support those claims? Thanks.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Hurricane Wind and Fire}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

62nd Enrolled Missouri Militia moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to 62nd Enrolled Missouri Militia. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and the singular source only mentions this militia in passing in a singular sentence, along with a long list of other militias, therefore it doesn't demonstrate WP:SIGCOV. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. MolecularPilot Talk 05:42, 13 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Notability

Hello, SomeRandomGuy3523,

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia!

After a couple of the militia articles you've made have been draftified for notability issues, and as you seem to be making a lot just based off the long lists on this website, [1], I just wanted to let you know about WP:NOTABILITY.

Generally, to be eligible for an article, subjects generally require significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the topic. A listing on one of that website's incredibly long list of what seems like every single civil war militia in Missouri, is not WP:SIGCOV, and just being listed there isn't enough that an article should be made.

For some more information on notability, you can see WP:42 for a simple explanation, or for the full guideline see WP:N/WP:GNG.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask me!

Thanks, MolecularPilot Talk 05:50, 13 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Your submission at Articles for creation: 62nd Enrolled Missouri Militia (April 14)

Draft declined
Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. Your draft submission to Articles for creation has been reviewed but not accepted at this time.
Feedback
The reviewer, DoubleGrazing, left the following feedback:
This draft is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Wikipedia's verifiability policy requires that all content be supported by reliable sources.
  • Reliable sources include: reputable newspapers, magazines, academic journals, and books from respected publishers.
  • Unacceptable sources include: personal blogs, social media, predatory publishers, most tabloids, and websites where anyone can contribute.
Replace any unreliable sources with high-quality sources. If you cannot find a reliable source for the material, it should be removed.
This draft's references do not show that the subject meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion for organizations and companies. The draft requires multiple published secondary sources that:
  • provide significant coverage: discuss the subject in detail, excluding routine coverage like product launches, staff appointments, or financial reports and listings in databases or listicles;
  • are reliable: from reputable outlets with editorial oversight;
  • are independent: not connected to the subject, such as press releases, the subject's own website, or sponsored content.
Please add references that meet all three of these criteria. If none exist, the subject is not yet suitable for Wikipedia.

Next steps

  • Edit Draft:62nd Enrolled Missouri Militia to address the points above, making sure to publish any changes.
  • When you are ready to resubmit your draft for review, click the Resubmit button.
  • If you do not edit your draft in the next 6 months, it may be deleted.

1st Battalion Missouri State Militia Cavalry moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to 1st Battalion Missouri State Militia Cavalry. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and the current sources do not appear to meet WP:SIGCOV - inclusions in large databases or lists and a news article about something a member did but only mentions the unit once. Notability reminder #2

Hello again, SomeRandomGuy3523

I noticed that you have continued to create stub articles about various American civil war military units, referenced only to databases / lists that briefly mention many indiscriminately included units, even after my message to you above about Notability.

I wanted to remind you again about our notability guidelines, and particularly WP:SIGCOV, which states that references which
address the topic directly and in detail [with] more than a trivial mention, are required to meet the general notability guideline.

I also note WP:ORGTRIV (as WP:NORG could potentially be an subject-specific notability guideline for militia organisations), which states that inclusion in collections that have indiscriminate inclusion criteria (i.e. attempt to include every existing item instead of selecting the best, most notable examples), such as databases, archives, directories, dictionaries, bibliographies, certain almanacs, does not count toward notability as it it trivial, and many of the pages you have used as references would fall under this.

Please stop mass creating these articles for every briefly-existing militia or unit that is listed in collections like lists or databases, and ensure that the notability criteria (see WP:GNG or WP:42 for a simpler explanation) are met. If you aren't sure, you can submit an article through WP:AFC for an experienced reviewer to take a look.

Again, if you have any questions please feel free to ask me!

Thank you, MolecularPilot Talk 09:58, 19 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Your Good Article nominations

@SomeRandomGuy3523: Hello and thank you for your interest in American Civil War units. I rarely review articles for GA, but I will offer you some general tips based on your 153rd Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment.

  • Make your lead section two or three paragraphs. The reader should be able to read the lead section, and get most of the information they may be seeking.
  • You do not need to use citations in the lead section, as long as every fact is in the main body of the article.
  • You do not need to use citations in the InfoBox, as long as every fact is in the main body of the article. Sometimes I put the citation in anyway, but comment it out. The comment would be found if one were to try to edit the InfoBox, but otherwise unseen. The format is to surround the hidden text with "<!--" and "-->" and may cover several lines, e.g.:<!-- An example of hidden comments -->
  • I like to mention the original commanders, colonel, lieutenant colonel, and majors, in the organization section. This also makes a section like your Commanders section unnecessary. If there is another soldier of significance (future politician, Medal of Honor winner, etc), I usually also mention them in the organization section.
  • I would have put your casualties section into the Disbandment section as a paragraph that summarizes the regiment.
  • Your total wounded and missing figures, for the entire period of service, can be misleading—since some people get wounded more than once. Same with captured or missing.
  • Watch for duplicate Wikilinks. Under "July 1: Barlow's Knoll", you have Gettysburg Wikilinked in each of the two paragraphs.
  • Here is a better way to display images: [[File:Chancellorsville May2.png|thumb|upright=1.25|right|Battle of Chancellorsville, May 2|alt= map showing troop movements mostly west of Fredericksburg]] Use the "upright" field to control the size of the image.
  • You should not have text "sandwiched" between two images. You are doing that in the Battle of Gettysburg section.
  • Instead of having two or more citations together, you can combine them using this style <ref name="Completed1865">{{multiref|{{harvnb|Union Army|1908|p=307}};|{{harvnb|Wolfe|2016|p=13}}}}</ref>
  • In some cases, you can get newspaper articles, images or maps from the U.S. Library of Congress here.
  • Sometimes Dyer's Compendium is a useful source. Here is a link [2].
  • Make sure you have good sources. I'm not sure what a reviewer would think of "The Civil War in the East" as a reliable source. Although I often peek at it as a check, I have been afraid to use something put on the web by some unknown (Steve A. Hawks). It might, emphasize "might", be OK. Same with the Civil War Archive. It might be better to go to its source, "A Compendium of the War of the Rebellion" by Frederick H. Dyer.

Consider this only advice, nothing mandatory. I have not completed many official reviews. Whoever does review your article will have different preferences. Hopefully this will be useful for you. TwoScars (talk) 19:51, 1 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

101st Illinois Infantry Regiment

In the future, please add attribution when copying from public domain sources: simply add the template {{source-attribution}} after your citation. I have done so for the above article. Please do this in the future so that our readers will be aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself, and that it's okay to copy verbatim. Thanks, — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 15:29, 25 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Diannaa Thank you for advising me, i haven't done it because i didn't know of this template, but thanks for you letting me know. Cheers! SomeRandomGuy3523 (talk) 23:05, 25 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Diannaa Im still unsure on how to use this template on my sources, any assistance for this? Cheers! SomeRandomGuy3523 (talk) 00:23, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Place the template at the end of the citation, just before the closing </ref> tag. Like thisDiannaa 🍁 (talk) 00:30, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Diannaa I use visual editor to do my citations, is there a way to do it while on visual editor? SomeRandomGuy3523 (talk) 00:38, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I don't know. I've never used visual editor. You could add it by switching to the traditional editor ("source editor"). You might try asking at the Help desk; maybe they know a better way. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 00:51, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Good article nominations RfC

Hi SomeRandomGuy3523,

There is an ongoing Request for Comment (RfC) at Wikipedia:Good article nominations/August 2026 RfC, which you may be interested in because in the past year, you have nominated or reviewed more than one good article nomination. This message has also been sent to all subscribers to the Good Article Gazette. The RfC contains many proposals (33 at the time of writing), which are split into the following categories: nominators, reviewers, reviews, volunteer roles, reviewing initiatives, and others. However, you are more than welcome to add any proposals of your own that you wish to put to the community.

By the end of September, all the proposals will have been closed by an uninvolved editor, either as a consensus for one of the options or with no consensus. At this point, editors will be invited again to develop these proposals into coherent policy and implement them.

Thank you for your contributions to the good articles project, and I look forward to your input! (in solidarity), JacobTheRox(talk|contributions) 16:03, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
