Le HMS Salamander était un brûlot acheté en 1757. Vendu en 1761.
Le HMS Salamander (1778) est le HMS Shark, converti en navire d'incendie et renommé en 1778. La Marine le vend en 1783. Il est ensuite devenu baleinier du Groenland, marchand, transport de condamnés vers l’Australie, baleinier de la mer du Sud, marchand à nouveau, et navire esclave. Il est coté pour la dernière fois en 1811, mais n'est pas apparu dans les journaux après 1804.
Le HMS Salamander est un sloop à roue à aubes de 818 tonnes et à quatre canons lancé en 1832 et démantelé en 1883.
