Hugo Micallef, né le le à Monte-Carlo, est un boxeur professionnel monégasque actuellement sous contrat avec Top Rank[1].

Carrière amateur

Hugo Micallef a participé à plusieurs tournois internationaux sur la scène amateur. Il a notamment pris part aux Jeux européens de 2019[2], atteignant les quarts de finale avant de s'incliner face à Pat McCormack[3]. Il a également tenté de se qualifier pour les Jeux olympiques d'été de 2024, mais a perdu dès le premier tour des qualifications contre Mizan Aykol[4].

Carrière professionnelle

Hugo Micallef fait ses débuts professionnels au Stade Roland-Garros à Paris le face à l’Argentin Ezequiel Gregores, qu'il bat par décision unanime[5]. Son premier combat sous la bannière de Top Rank a lieu le , au cours duquel il bat l’Autrichien Sergio Odabai par abandon au quatrième round[6].

Il affronte ensuite le champion IBF d'Europe des super-légers, l’Irlandais Seán McComb, à la Salle des Étoiles de Monte-Carlo le sous le regard et les encouragements du prince Albert II[7]. Hugo Micallef s'incline alors par arrêt de l'arbitre au huitième round[8],[9].
