Infodumping

L'infodumping (Surcharge Informative) est l'action de fournir une trop large quantité d'informations à la fois. Le terme a été utilisé pour la première fois en 1979, dans une conférence intitulé : « The Proceeding of The Southeast »[1].

Avec le temps, le terme a été adopté dans le contexte de la littérature (en particulier dans la science-fiction[2]) ainsi que par la communauté autiste[3].

En littérature

En littérature, il s'agit d'une surcharge d'informations, que l'on peut croiser dans les romans d'écrivains débutants ou dans les livres de science-fiction considérés comme difficiles[style à revoir].

Autisme

Un mème internet en trois bulles. Dans un entretien d'embauche, la recruteuse demande à la candidate ce qu'elle veut dire par "autisme" dans son CV. La candidate répond avec un infodump sur Wikipédia.

L'infodumping est compris comme un élément de l'expression autistique, en particulier en ce qui concerne leurs sujets d'intérêt[4],[5],[6]. Il est également associé au trouble déficitaire de l'attention avec hyperactivité[7].
