- l'USS Maddox (DD-622), un destroyer de classe Gleaves lancé en 1942 et coulé l'année suivante par un bombardier allemand ;
- l'USS Maddox (DD-731), un destroyer de classe Allen M. Sumner lancé en 1944. Il est acteur majeur des incidents du golfe du Tonkin qui déclencheront la guerre du Viêt Nam.
