Catherine Goldstein (d. 5 Temmuz 1958, Paris), Institut de mathématiques de Jussieu [fr]'da (IMJ) araştırma direktörü olarak çalışan Fransız sayı teorisyeni ve matematik tarihçisidir. 1991'de L'association femmes et mathématiques'in başkanlığını yapmıştır.[1]
Eğitimi ve kariyeri
Goldstein, 1976-1980 yılları arasında École normale supérieure'de eğitim görmüş ve 1978 yılında matematik alanında agrégasion derecesi almıştır.[1] John H. Coates tarafından yönetilen p-sel L-fonksiyonları ve Iwasawa teorisi üzerine bir tezle 1981 yılında üçüncü aşama doktorasını tamamladı.[1][2]
1980'den IMJ'ye geçtiği 2002 yılına kadar Paris-Sud Üniversitesi'nde çalışmıştır.[1]
Katkıları ve tanınması
Goldstein, 2018 Uluslararası Matematikçiler Kongresi'nin genel konuşmacılarından biri olarak listelenmiştir.[3] Norbert Schappacher ve Joachim Schwermer ile birlikte The shaping of arithmetic after C. F. Gauss's Disquisitiones arithmeticae (“C. F. Gauss'un Disquisitiones arithmeticae'sinden sonra aritmetiğin şekillenmesi”) adlı kitabın editörüdür.[4][5][6]
