四硫化三铁是蓝黑色（有时是粉红色^{[來源請求]}）铁和硫的化合物，化学式为Fe₃S₄或FeS·Fe₂S₃，与四氧化三铁类似。自然界中存在于硫矿物胶黄铁矿，具有顺磁性。它是一种由趋磁细菌制造的生物矿。它是一种混合价态化合物，Fe²⁺与Fe³⁺的比例为1:2。

晶体结构

立方晶胞，空间群Fd3m。硫阴离子形成立方密堆积晶格，而铁阳离子占据四面体和八面体的顶点位置。^[1]^[2]

电磁性质

和与此相关的氧化物磁铁矿（Fe₃O₄）类似，四硫化三铁有亚铁磁性，其中占据八面体顶点与占据四面体顶点位置的铁离子自旋磁矩取向方向相反，结果产生了净磁化强度。这两个金属位置有高自旋量子数。胶黄铁矿有半金属的电子结构。^[3]^[4]
