Biru adalah salah satu dari tiga warna primer dalam model warna RYB (teori warna tradisional) serta dalam model warna RGB (aditif).[2] Warna ini terletak di antara ungu dan sian dalam spektrum cahaya tampak. Secara umum, istilah "biru" digunakan untuk menggambarkan warna yang terlihat oleh manusia ketika mengamati cahaya dengan panjang gelombang dominan sekitar 450 hingga 495 nanometer.
