Cryptasterina pentagona adalah sebuah spesies bintang laut dalam famili Asterinidae. Spesies tersebut ditemukan di perairan dangkal di Australia timur laut. Siklus hidupnya meliputi pelepasan telur besar dan berkembang menjadi larva planktonik yang berbeda dengan spesies paling serupa Cryptasterina hystera yang bersifat vivipar. Keduanya nampak terbagi dari garis leluhur umum hanya pada beberapa ribu tahun lalu.[2]
