Hybrid Synergy Drive

Hybrid Synergy Drive adalah suatu teknologi mobil hybrid yang dikembangkan oleh pabrikan otomotif Toyota, dan sudah diterapkan di beberapa produk Toyota seperti Auris, Prius, Highlander Hybrid, Camry Hybrid, Estima, Alphard, Lexus CT, Lexus RX 400h/RX 450h, Lexus GS 450h, Lexus LS 600h/LS 600hL, dan Lexus HS 250h. Toyota juga memberikan lisensi teknologi hybridnya ini pada Nissan untuk Nissan Altima Hybrid dan perusahaan supplier part Aisin Seiki Co. Teknologi HSD bisa membuat sebuah mobil hybrid menjadi mobil hybrid "penuh" artinya bisa berjalan hanya menggunakan motor listrik saja, di mana banyak pabrikan mobil lain tidak bisa.

Hybrid Synergy Drive merupakan penyempurnaan dari Toyota Hybrid System (THS) yang sudah digunakan di Toyota Prius generasi pertama, 1997 sampai 2003. Generasi kedua, yang disebut THS II, diperkenalkan di Prius generasi berikutnya, tahun 2004. Untuk Lexus, namanya diganti menjadi Lexus Hybrid Drive , mulai tahun 2006. Sistem Lexus Hybrid Drive mempunyai tujuan untuk meningkatkan tenaga dan performa kendaraan dengan efisiensi yang baik pula.[1] Dipakai di semua model Lexus.[2][3]
