Talk:Blueberry

Russian голубика ("blue berry") does not refer to blueberries, which are non-native and nearly unknown in Russia

Are you sure you're not confused? Actually, the word "голубика" is used in Russia to refer to a highbush blueberries variety of berry. This variety is found only in the North and is relatively little known. Lowbush blueberries are called "черника" and are found in almost every forest. (It is possible, of course, that my online translator misunderstood the complex structure of the sentence.) 84.245.221.32 (talk) 01:12, 15 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

There's no WP:RS for blueberries growing in Russia, so the sentence was removed. The sentence content also was WP:UNDUE. Zefr (talk) 03:05, 15 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Ah, sorry. It seems I didn't understand anything again. 84.245.221.32 (talk) 21:37, 15 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

"First Nations peoples of Canada consumed wild blueberries for millennia."

This statement seems not very interesting, patently obvious, and out of place. (The American Indians ALSO consumed blueberries for millennia. It would be much more notable if traditional people avoided the fruit.) I'd like to replace this with a similar but more practical statement such as "Blueberries were often an included ingredient in pemmican." etc Drsruli (talk) 02:16, 3 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. The intention of the article isn't to list all peoples who consumed blueberries nor is it of significant cultural significance, otherwise every article that contains food indigenous ate would have that at the end (buffalo, deer, cattle, apples, fish, etc)
Additionally it is an irrelevant fact, many people around the world consume blueberries not just indigenous of Canada. It's not also a 'use', the uses have already been stated including consumption, don't need to focus on one group of people ~2025-33722-80 (talk) 06:51, 15 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Cure for diarrhea (if dried)?

Sorry for the revert confusion and what up Twinkle?

Thank you @LizardJr8 and @LordCollaboration. I used Twinkle to restore a version, but it arrived after LizardJr8's rollback. I have never seen that before, though I have see plenty of Twinkle -prevented edit conflicts in the past... is Twinkle just not good at that anymore? Or is it not good on safari? Any advice appreciated. Chris vLS (talk) 02:03, 23 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

I was using Twinkle also. I've seen edit conflicts like that a number of times, and if it causes an issue then I've just undone my revert (and rescinded a warning to a talk page) as you did. It's still a good tool in my opinion. LizardJr8 (talk) 02:09, 23 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
I just started using it recently. But I only use it to restore a specific version, so haven't run into that.
And sorry about my edit summary, I thought that you had just reverted part of the vandalism (I did not know you had accidentally restored some of it), and I meant that I was reverting the rest, but I see now it sounded like I was calling your edit vandalism, which I certainly did not mean.
