Siège de American City Business Journals à Charlotte
En 1982 , Mike Russell et William Worley lancent leur premier journal Kansas City Business Journal avec un nouveau concept[ 1] . Russell et Worley lancent d'autres titres et achètent d'autres journaux[ 1] .
En 1985, la société American City Business Journals est cotée en bourse[ 1] .
En 1989 , Ray Shaw quitte son poste de président du groupe Dow Jones and Company et achète le groupe ACBJ[ 1] , [ 2] . L'un des premiers faits de Shaw est de déménager le siège de la société de Kansas City à Charlotte , en Caroline du Nord [ 2] .
En 1995 , Advance Publications achète American City Business Journals[ 1] , [ 2] .
En 2009, ACBJ reprend le site internet Portfolio.com, auparavant associé à la société Condé Nast Publications [ 3] .
