Mary Lucas, née Anderson le à Londres et morte le , est une compositrice anglaise.

Biographie

Elle étudie à Dresde et au Royal College of Music avec Herbert Howells et R.O. Morris. Elle se marie avec l’entrepreneur et inventeur Ralph Lucas (en) en 1903 et leur fils Colin est un architecte renommé[1]. Elle abandonne la composition pendant quelques années après son mariage mais elle la reprend et produisit plusieurs compositions réussies[2]. Sa Sonata pour clarinette est composée pour Pauline Juler en 1938[3]. Les documents de Lucas sont détenus par la British Library[4].
