John Dwight Pentecost (Chester, 24 aprile 1915 – Dallas, 28 aprile 2014) è stato un pastore protestante e teologo statunitense.

Pentecost ha conseguito il bachelor of arts in Virginia all’Hampden-Sydney College nel 1937 e ha proseguito gli studi al Dallas Theological Seminary, dove ha conseguito il master in teologia nel 1941 e il dottorato in teologia nel 1956. Nel 1941 è stato ordinato ministro della Chiesa presbiteriana e ha esercitato il suo ministero prima in Pennsylvania fino al 1951 e poi in Texas. Dal 1948 ha insegnato al Philadelphia College of Bible fino al 1955, anno in cui si è trasferito al Dallas Theological Seminary, dove ha insegnato al suo ritiro dall'insegnamento. Pentecost ha pubblicato numerosi libri. È stato sposato e dalla moglie Dorothy ha avuto due figlie.^[1]
