Codot salim ali (Latidens salimalii) adalah sebuah spesies codot langka dalam genus monotipik Latidens. Spesimen hewan ini pertama kali dikumpulkan oleh Angus Hutton, seorang naturalis di Pegunungan High Wavy di Ghat Barat, lebih tepatnya di Distrik Theni, Tamil Nadu, India Selatan pada 1948. Awalnya, spesimennya diidentifikasi secara salah sebagai sejenis codot hidung-kecil (Cynopterus), tetapi belakangan diidentifikasi oleh Kitti Thonglongya sebagai sebuah spesies baru yang dinamai bedasarkan seorang ornitolog India, Salim Ali, pada 1972.
