Pelagornis adalah sebuah genus burung punah. Satu spesies, P. sandersi, menjadi salah satu jenis burung terbesar yang pernah ditemukan.[1] Rentang sayapnya dua kali lipat lebih besar dari jenis albatros terbesar, diperkirakan sepanjang 6.4 hingga 7.4 meter.[2] Fosil spesies ini berasal dari kala Oligosen, sekitar 25 juta tahun lalu.

Pelagornis termsuk kedalam kelompok punah Pelagornithidae, yang mencakup burung-burug punah yang diketahui dari proyeksi mirip gigi di paruhnya, ukurannya yang besar, dan tulang sayapnya yang sangat termodifikasi. Ciri-ciri tubuh ini menyiratkan gaya hidup pelambung laut seperti albatros masa ini.[3]

Beberapa spesies-spesies lain ditemukan belakangan, dan ukuran mereka tidak terlalu besar.[4] Genus ini punah sekitar 2,5 juta tahun lalu.
