아파치 Apex(영어: Apache Apex)는 YARN 네이티브 플랫폼으로, 스트림 및 일괄 처리를 통합한다. 이 플랫폼은 이동 중인 빅 데이터를 확장 가능하고, 고성능이며, 결함 허용이 가능하고, 상태 보존적이며, 안전하고, 분산되어 있으며, 운영하기 쉽게 처리한다.[3]

아파치 Apex는 2016년 4월 25일에 아파치 소프트웨어 재단의 최상위 프로젝트로 선정되었다.[4][5] 2019년 9월 기준으로, 더 이상 활발하게 개발되지 않는다.[2]

개요

아파치 Apex는 아파치 라이선스 2.0 하에 개발되었다.[6] 이 프로젝트는 캘리포니아주 새너제이에 기반을 둔 스타트업 기업 데이터토렌트(DataTorrent)가 주도했다.

아파치 Apex는 Apex 코어(Apex Core)와 Apex 말하(Apex Malhar)라는 두 부분으로 구성된다. Apex 코어는 하둡 위에서 분산 애플리케이션을 구축하기 위한 플랫폼 또는 프레임워크이다. 핵심 Apex 플랫폼은 커넥터와 로직 함수 라이브러리인 말하에 의해 보완되어 신속한 애플리케이션 개발을 가능하게 한다. 이러한 입출력 연산자들은 Alluxio, S3, HDFS, NFS, FTP, 카프카, 액티브MQ, RabbitMQ, JMS, 카산드라, 몽고DB, 레디스, HBase, 카우치DB, 일반 JDBC, 그리고 기타 데이터베이스 커넥터와 같은 소스 및 싱크를 위한 템플릿을 제공한다.

역사

데이터토렌트는 2012년부터 이 플랫폼을 개발해 왔으며, 이후 아파치 Apex가 된 핵심 부분을 오픈 소스로 공개하기로 결정했다.[7] 이 프로젝트는 2015년 8월 인큐베이션에 들어갔으며 8개월 만에 아파치 소프트웨어 재단의 최상위 프로젝트가 되었다. 데이터토렌트 자체는 2018년 5월에 문을 닫았다.[8]

2019년 9월 기준으로 아파치 Apex는 더 이상 개발되지 않는다.[2]

Apex Big Data World

Apex Big Data World[9] 는 아파치 Apex에 관한 컨퍼런스이다. 첫 번째 Apex Big Data World 컨퍼런스는 2017년에 열렸다. 행사는 인도 푸네와 미국 캘리포니아주 마운틴뷰에서 개최되었다.
