Kinase

Kinase, atau kadang disebut fosfotransferase, adalah jenis enzim yang mengkatalis transfer gugus fosfat dari molekul donor berenergi tinggi, seperti ATP,[2] menjadi suatu substrat spesifik. Proses ini disebut dengan fosforilasi dan enzim yang membuang gugus fosfat ini disebut sebagai fosfatase. Pada akhirnya, kinase menghasilkan substrat yang terfosforilasi dan ADP. Sebaliknya, defosforilasi terjadi ketika subtrat yang terfosforilasi mendonasikan sebuah gugus fosfat, dan ADP mendapatkan gugus fosfat (menghasilkan sbeuah substrat yang terdesfosforilasi dan molekul ATP yang berenergi tinggi). Kedua proses ini, fosforilasi dan defosforilasi, terjaid empat kali selama glikolisis.[3][4][5]
