Endotelin

Endotelin, ET adalah protein sepanjang 21 AA hasil sekresi endotelium yang bersifat hormon dengan menyebabkan pengecilan penampang pembuluh darah sehingga meningkatkan tekanan darah, sebagai mekanisme homeostasis vaskular.

Kelainan ekspresi ET menyebabkan penyakit kardiovaskular seperti tekanan darah tinggi dan lain-lain. Studi baru-baru ini menunjukkan bahwa antagonis ET dapat menghambat perkembangan dan menginduksi apoptosis pada sel melanoma pada manusia.[1]
