Resistin

Resistin (bahasa Inggris: cysteine-type endopeptidase, cysteine-type peptidase, ADSF, RSTN, xylem cysteine peptidase 1, XCP1, FIZZ3, RETN1, MGC126603, MGC126609, resistin, RETN) adalah protein kaya akan asam amino berjenis sisteina yang disekresi oleh adiposit, dan merupakan hormon yang disebut-sebut menyebabkan obesitas dan NIDDM.[1]

RETN juga merupakan kemokina bagi sel mieloid, dan dapat berinteraksi langsung dengan defensin-alfa.[2]

Ekspresi gen resistin, yaitu XCP1 yang merupakan gen berjenis promielosit khusus, bergantung pada faktor transkripsi CEBPE (bahasa Inggris: CCAAT enhancer binding protein epsilon).[2] CEBPE dapat membentuk heterodimer dengan protein CEBP-delta, yang berguna bagi diferensiasi dan pematangan fungsional sel progenitor dari granulosit.[3] Pada model tikus, mutasi pada gen CEBPE mengakibatkan granulosit dan eosinofil gagal menjadi dewasa.[2]
