Korravai

'Korravai (Tamil: கொற்றவை, Koṟṟavai), juga dieja Kotravai, adalah dewi kuno dalam tradisi Tamil. Dia juga adalah ibu dewi dan dewi kesuburan , pertanian, dan pemburu.Dia kadang-kadang disebut dengan nama dan julukan lain dalam tradisi Tamil di Tamil nadu dan Sri Lanka, seperti Atha, Mari, Suli, dan Neeli.[1][2] Dia dianggap sebagai Bunda dewa Murugan dalam tradisi Tamil di Tamilnadu dan Sri Lanka.
Dia adalah salah satu dewi terdokumentasi paling awal dalam Sastra Sangam, dan juga ditemukan dalam literatur Tamil selanjutnya.Dia disebutkan dalam banyak puisi di Paripāṭal, meskipun puisi yang didedikasikan untuknya termasuk di antara puisi yang telah hilang dari sejarah.Dalam epos Tamil Silappatikaram (c. abad ke-2), ia dikatakan sebagai dewi wilayah Pālai.
Etimologi
Namanya berasal dari kata Tamil korram, yang berarti "kemenangan, kesuksesan, keberanian".[3]
