Auchenblae var et Highland single malt skotsk whisky-destilleri i Auchenblae, Kincardine, Aberdeenshire, Skotland.

Historie

Destilleriet blev oprettet i 1895 i de tidligere bygninger fra en spindemølle (som selv var opført i 1795) ved siden af Luther Water.[1][2] Udformningen af de nye destillerifaciliteter blev udført af Charles C. Doig.[1] Dette omfattede opførelsen af en dæmning[1] over Luther Water, installationen af en vanddrevet turbinegenerator til elektricitet samt en ny jernbro, der gjorde det muligt for hestetrukne vogne at nå destilleriet.[1]

Destilleriet gik i likvidation i 1916 og blev opkøbt af Macdonald Greenlees, Williams Ltd, før det endeligt lukkede i 1930.[1]

Selvom mange af destilleriets bygninger er blevet revet ned, eksisterer den vandkraftdrevne turbine stadig, ligesom en bygning med pagodetag i landsbyens centrum på Burnett Street.[1][3][4][5]
